Breaking: new Catholic elementary school to be built in Kemptville

A new Catholic elementary school is on the way for Kemptville but a timeline for completion has yet to be announced.

Announced Wednesday morning, Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark says the province is putting $18.8 million towards the new school.

He says it will deliver 306 new elementary student spaces and 73 new licensed childcare spaces for local families in the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario.

Clark said the investment is in the future of children and it’s great news for students, families, and educators in the community.

“We’re creating a modern learning environment for educators to inspire and challenge students to reach their full potential and empower them to chase big dreams”.

Clark is proud to deliver government funding to support the many infrastructure needs in the fast-growing community of North Grenville, including new schools for four local boards of education.

The new school will be located at a site to be acquired in Kemptville.
