Traffic crossing the border from eastern Ontario into New York State continues to drop.

Statistics from U.S. Customs and Border Protection shows there were 28,000 fewer vehicle trips across the border during the first three months of the year.

That includes the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge where there were 16,400 trips recorded in March, down from 17,000 in March 2025 and 14,000 trips in February, down from 16,600 in February 2025.

There were 14,300 trips recorded in January, down from 19,500 in January 2025.

Fewer trips have been recorded since February 2025 when U.S. President Donald Trump started a tariff war.
