The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority says we’re still experiencing a severe drought. The authority met to look at rainfall amounts and water levels over the past month. It says the rainfall wasn’t enough to lift the Rideau River watershed out of severe drought status. The RVCA says wetlands in the upper parts of the watershed are virtually dry, as well as some of the smaller streams running into the rivers. It says residents using the watershed should continue to conserve water.
