Edwardsburgh Cardinal Township officials lay out winter storm cleanup process

Edwardsburgh Cardinal officials are laying out the cleanup process after a major winter storm sweeps through.

They say that following a winter storm, snow cleanup and removal may take place over several days depending on conditions and available snow storage.

Priority areas for snow removal are assessed after plowing is complete and may include intersections where snowbanks affect visibility, downtown and school zones and areas where snow storage limits safe vehicle or pedestrian movement.

Locations where additional space is needed for sidewalk clearing are also considered essential.

Officials say not all areas require snow removal, and some locations may have snow pushed back to create additional storage instead.

Decisions, they add, are made based on safety, visibility, and operational need.

You can find more information on the cleanup process on the township’s website.
