Changes in place for holiday garbage and recycling collection in Edwardsburgh Cardinal

Edwardsburgh Cardinal residents can expect some interruptions to the regular garbage and recycling collection schedule during the holiday period.

The township says the changes are different from the 2025 schedule that was released earlier this year.

There will be no collection on Christmas Day with the Thursday route picked up on Boxing Day and the Friday route on Dec. 27.

There also won’t be service on New Year’s Day with the Thursday route picked up on Jan. 2 and the Friday route the next day.

Christmas trees will be collected curbside in Cardinal, Johnstown, New Wexford and Spencerville from Jan. 5 to 16.

You’re asked to place your trees curbside by Jan. 5 with all tinsel, plastic and decorations removed.

Trees will also be accepted at the Scott Road Transfer Station in January at no charge.
