Prescott Marina needs some TLC according to council and town staff

When Prescott Council voted to submit a grant application for the splash pad, they were also faced with another capital project that needs funding. The decision was made to apply for grant money to build a new splash pad on Monday, but council also discussed the need to resolve on-going power issues at the Prescott Marina.

Town staff say the cost to repair the issue will require a capital investment in the $200,000 range.

Councillor Ray Young says they have to move forward with the project sooner rather than later.

Mayor Brett Todd echoed those concerns, saying the project has risen to the top of the list when it comes to capital infrastructure projects. He believes the project will have to be dealt with in the next budget.

CAO Pierre Mercier says they’ve already spent about $25,000 replacing switch boxes but more work needs to be done.
