Ontario is putting more than $147,000 towards helping local long-term care homes support residents with complex needs.
The funding, coming from the province’s Local Priorities Fund, will go to purchasing items such as IV equipment, bariatrics equipment bed support and everyday items like slip-proof floor mats, wraparound bed rails and grab bars.
Wellington House in Prescott is among the homes receiving funding as $39,181 has been earmarked for them.
“With support from the Local Priorities Fund, we’re helping to ensure long-term care homes in Leeds and Grenville are equipped to care for our loved ones,” says Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark. “Specialized equipment and services mean that more long-term care home residents can get the care they need without the stress of a trip to the hospital.”
The Local Priorities Fund is designed to support programs that connect people with the right care, reducing emergency department visits and hospital stays.
