Police say it’s fortunate that an officer found an insecure load being pulled by a truck before disaster struck on Highway 401 in Augusta Township.
Grenville County OPP say an officer was on patrol around 3:30 p.m. Monday when they saw a commercial motor vehicle in the westbound lanes of the highway.
They say it was pulling a load of fencing that had become loose with the truck stopped and its driver charged.
Driver’s are being reminded to always double check strapping and tie down restraints, and ensure they have enough to properly secure the load they are hauling.
