The Executive Director of the South Grenville Food Bank says the King Charles III Coronation Medal she recently received is really an award for the community.
Bonnie Pidgeon was presented the honour this week for her outstanding contributions to the community.
The award is given to individuals who have made a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region or community of Canada, or have made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.
Pidgeon says she’s supported by the great volunteers and board of directors that she works with and adds everyone she has met along the way has helped shape her into who she is today.
She tells Moose FM it’s all about giving back.
“I try to do something nice once a week, whether that is open the door for someone, pay a kind compliment, help somebody with groceries. I also try once a month to do something kind as Bonnie, not as the food bank.”
Pidgeon adds that she wants to thank everyone who has supports the food bank and she adds they are proud of the programs they run and that they are there to help.
