Ogdensburg New York Mayor Michael Tooley says he’s seen a decline in Canadian travelers making the trip across the border.
The comment comes after Tooley met with Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar last Friday in an informal get together to discuss the relationship between his city and the town.
Tooley says he was happy to come and visit Mayor Shankar and he says Canadians are more than welcome to visit Ogdensburg.
Mayor Tooley tells Moose FM that he’s open to further meetings in the future.
“Get a little bit of a better feel for what’s happening in our respective communities and with our government leaders, looking to see other ways that the communities might be able to work together.”
Mayor Shankar says he wants to work with his American counterpart to see how they can increase visitors on both sides.
