A 14-year-old male faces charges after what police call a “serious assault” in South Dundas.
Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry OPP say they were called to a field adjacent to Van Allen Road shortly before 6:30 p.m. Friday where it was reported that a male had been assaulted with an edged weapon.
When officers arrived, they say they found a 37-year-old man had suffered stab wounds and he was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The teen suspect now faces charges including assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The name of the accused cannot be released under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Police say there was no risk to public safety, and the victim was known to the accused.
The suspect was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Cornwall.
