Prescott is getting ready to host its first ever Porchfest this weekend.
Described as a community-wide celebration of music and neighbors, the event will see 16 musicians performing on porches in the town between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Organizers say it’s a self-guided tour of homegrown talent, good vibes, and front-step fun and the performances will take place rain or shine.
Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar tells Moose FM that the event is being put on by South Grenville Events.
“It’s being run by a third party so that’s great because we have a small team and I’ve said this all along that we need community partners to host events like this.”
It wraps up at Prescott Town Hall where from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. there will be a BBQ chicken dinner and live music.
