Area businesses could feel the impact of a lengthy Canada Post strike

It will be a difficult road for area businesses if a a potential strike by Canada Post employees goes on for a while.

That’s according to North Grenville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Terri-Lyn McEvoy who says a potential strike, that could begin on Friday, will have a lot of impact on day-to-day operations.

The 55,000 workers plan to hit the picket lines on Friday, their second walkout in six months, with the big issue continuing to be weekend deliveries.

McEvoy tells Moose FM that there was one issue that stood out during the last strike.

“Sending and receiving money, everybody needs to get paid and you’re paying invoices so it was difficult.”

McEvoy adds that they are providing chamber members with a list of other options they can use for their mailing needs including UPS.
