A charity workout is raising awareness and funds for families who lose a child in pregnancy or as an infant.
Grenville County OPP Const. Dave Holmes and his wife Mallory started an event called Charlee`s Run in southern Ontario in honor of their daughter who passed away just after birth in 2011.
After moving to Grenville County four years ago, they started a charity workout with all money raised going to the Family Birthing Unit at Winchester District Memorial Hospital.
Holmes tells Moose FM that while the spots for the workout on Saturday are filled, people can still donate and the money will go to breaking the silence surrounding pregnancy and infant loss.
“When people come out and come together for something like this it shows that they are not alone in their grief and we try to support more common language supporting loss.”
