South East Health Unit’s free Bump to Baby prenatal and parenting program is now available online.
The health unit said in a media release that the program allows expectant families to complete prenatal education from anywhere with Internet access, at their own pace.
Bump to Baby provides essential information about pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period and includes videos, 3D animations, activities, quizzes and helpful web links.
The program removes barriers that prevent expectant families from participating in traditional in-person prenatal classes.
Public health nurse Kristen Stones said those who have completed the course say it helped them to feel prepared for labour and birth, baby care and breastfeeding.
The health unit said 1,023 expectant families across the region under South East Health Unit accessed online prenatal education in 2024.
