You’re being reminded that grass fire season is here.
With warmer weather arriving so too is a higher risk of grass fires with dry grass, brush and weeds from winter able to ignite quickly and spread fast in the wind.
Residents are being asked to consider delaying their burn until the groundcover greens up but, if they do choose to burn, they are reminded to never leave their fire unattended.
Other tips include having water, rakes and tools ready, following the pile size and setback limits listed on your permit and not burning on windy days.
