Local students have opportunity to weigh in on federal election

Students in our region are getting a chance to have their say on federal politics.

Wellington Elementary School in Prescott is participating in Student Vote Canada.

It’s a national parallel election program that organizers say brings democracy to life in classrooms from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

Students will cast ballots for the actual candidates running in their local electoral districts.

The results will be released publicly, by electoral district, after official polls close on election day, this coming Monday.
