34 paddlers left Kingston Saturday to start an eight-day journey in the fight against cancer. The 16th annual Kayaking for Cancer event is a 202-kilometer paddle from Kingston to Ottawa that raises money for research at the Canadian Cancer Society. The group is hoping to raise $40,000 and is now less than $6,000 from their goal. Kayakers come from all over the region although the event is led by Kemptville resident Kevin Dionne.
