A Prescott councilor remains in hospital after falling at the Alaine Chartrand Community Centre.
Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar says Ruth Lockett fell on the weekend and a Facebook post from her family says she received emergency surgery after being transported to the hospital.
Shankar says it’s been hard for the family as they deal with the situation but he adds it was an accident as Lockett fell after she was getting out of the way of someone and tripped.
He says he is keeping her in his thoughts.
“She’s at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and she’s got the best doctors and the best attention so we are hoping she makes a full recovery.”
As well as being on council, Lockett also serves on committees including physician recruitment and the policy working group.
