Prescott’s 2025 budget is expected to soon be set in stone.
At their regular meeting on Monday night, Prescott Town Council voted to move the budget on to their next get together in early April to leave time for last minute adjustments.
Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar says that, as it currently stands, the budget will work out to an increase of less than four per cent over last years.
Mayor Shankar says it’s important that they keep the increase as low as possible with pressures increasing the cost of living every day.
“Every day it’s a different headline with respect to our neighbors from the south, we just want to make sure that we’ve got all our t’s crossed and i’s dotted and we’re prepared for any outcome that may come about.”
Prescott Council’s next regular meeting is Monday, Apr. 7.
