Areas including Prescott and Brockville are under a Wind Warning from Environment Canada.
The weather agency says the warning is in place for Monday afternoon through Monday evening with strong southwesterly winds gusting at times from up to 100 kilometres an hour.
In addition, a strong cold front will move through the region Monday night.
This front may be associated with bursts of heavy snow and blowing snow giving significantly reduced visibility along with a sharp temperature drop.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches.
The wind is expected to weaken overnight Monday.
