United Counties of Leeds and Grenville selected for immigration program

Ontario is stepping in to help attract and retain foreign workers to help fill labour shortages in our region.

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville have been selected to participate in the Regional Economic Development through Immigration pilot.

Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark made the announcement at Friday’s annual Leeds Grenville Economic Development Summit in North Grenville.

Communities that are chosen must demonstrate that they have skilled labour needs that cannot be met locally and those that take part are helped with permanent residence in Ontario.

The program will launch early in 2025 and run for one year.
