The Kemptville Live Music Festival is being put on hold for 2025.
Festival Event Director Karen Bedard tells the MyKemptvilleNow.com Newsroom that, while this past summer’s event was an overall success, the attendance wasn’t what they needed to make ends meet.
That, along with applications for funding from various sources being denied, led to the decision to pause the event for next year and then try to bring it back for 2026.
This past summer’s event was held on the grounds of Kemptville Campus in July and included headliners Sam Roberts Band, Dean Brody and Burton Cummings.
Bedard says letting the over 200 volunteers that help make the festival happen know that it would be put on pause was heartbreaking.
“They are dedicated volunteers that come back year after year so that really was one of the toughest things to let them know is that we would have to do that, they are understanding, every one of them is buying lottery tickets and if they win it’s coming to the festival apparently.”
Bedard says she will put her time now towards supporting other causes in the community.
