Heavy construction equipment worth just under $100,000 stolen from lot in South Dundas

Police in South Dundas were called to investigate the theft of heavy construction equipment valued at just under $100,000. Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP officers responded to the theft at a storage lot on the corner of County Road 2 and 8 in South Dundas on Monday, July 18th around 7:30am in the morning. Construction employees arrived at the lot to pick up equipment for a job and discovered three large pieces were missing. The equipment was last seen on Friday, July 16th. A Caterpillar skid steer valued at $57,000 was missing. Also missing was a Caterpillar loader bucket valued at $6,000 and a Caterpillar cold planer valued at $35,000. Because a truck and trailer would have been needed to steal the equipment, police are asking you to report any vehicles you may have seen in that location between Friday, July 16th and Monday, July 18th. You can call the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
