Brockville’s Mayor is calling it a good news story for the region.
Cable company Northern Cables, which has facilities in Brockville and Prescott, has purchased 18 acres in Brockville where it plans to build a new production facility.
Matt Wren says the expansion will bring around fifty new jobs to begin with after the city sold the land on Cracker Crescent at a cost of approximately $50,000 per acre.
Wren says the sale is conditional on the facility being built over the next five years.
“We know that regional economic growth is the key to prosperity for our region, a win for one is a win for all.”
Wren adds that he expects more financial development projects to be announced in the near future.
