Prescott Council hopes to save money on small repairs and maintenance work

Prescott Council is hoping to save money when it comes to small repairs and maintenance. Council approved a recommendation, Monday, to allow the CAO and Director of Public Works & Infrastructure to invite five local companies to tender pricing. They’re asking for a unit price for line painting, sidewalk repairs and replacements, heavy equipment service, snow removal, dump truck services and road repair. Council says they want to avoid higher costs when requesting work from contractors later in the season. They say contractors typically charge more once their calendar fills up with work.
