Update: Attempted murder charge laid following weekend shooting incident near Kemptville

Update: 4:04 p.m. Thursday

Three people face charges, including one for attempted murder, after a weekend shooting incident in Oxford Station.

Grenville County OPP says one person was injured during an assault at a residence around 11 p.m. Sunday night.

A short time later, police say several individuals were injured when a shotgun was fired at the vehicle they were in.

None of the injuries were life-threatening.

Thirty-one-year-old Jesse Bryanton from Oxford Station has been arrested and faces charges including attempted murder.

He has also been charged with sexual assault on a person under 16 as part of a separate investigaton.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Brockville on May 30.

Two other people, 33-year-old Nicholas Fichera and 30-year-old Natasha Bergeron, also face charges.

They have been released from custody and are due in court on July 12.

Anyone with information on the investigation is asked to call Grenville County OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Police confirm to the Moose FM Newsroom that three people were injured in the incident.

They are hoping to release more details on what happened later in the week.

Update: 1:56 p.m. Tuesday

We’re learning more about a Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police investigation just south of Kemptville.

Police say they were called to an isolated shooting incident near Oxford Station on Monday.

They say non-life-threatening injuries were sustained in the incident.

They tell the Moose FM Newsroom that the Grenville County OPP Crime Unit is leading the investigation with assistance from their forensic unit.

Due to the nature of the case, no further details are being provided at this time.

We will have more information as the situation continues to develop.

Not many details are known but Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police say there is an ongoing investigation just south of Kemptville.

Police issued a brief statement Monday evening and say there is no threat to public safety.

They tell the Moose FM Newsroom that, due to the nature of the case, they will not be providing any further details at this time.
