It’s expected to be a busy Victoria Day long weekend for travelers at the Ogdensburg-Prescott international border.
Officials with the Canada Border Services Agency say this is one of the busier times of the year for the border and they are recommending travelers follow a few tips including crossing during quieter times, like early mornings, and checking border wait times online.
You should also ensure you have a consent letter if your children are bringing friends.
Alexanne Dupuis is a border officer at the Ottawa International Airport and she says there are a few other things to keep in mind.
“Have your travel documents ready and present them at the border office, such as your passport.”
If you’re planning on camping south of the border, remember you’re not allowed to bring back any firewood purchased stateside because of the risk of invasive species.
