Local businesses step up in support of Dundas Manor

Sherry Mowat has no direct connection to Dundas Manor Long-Term Care Home, but she believes in supporting local health care.

The home is in the midst of a fundraising effort to redevelop the current facility and bring it up to today’s provincial design standards.

Mowat owns Sherry’s Store in Williamsburg, one of many local businesses stepping up to be part of the Dundas Manor Business Blitz. Tap-To-Give kiosks have been set up at several shops in the area. Mowat says she has added some other fundraising opportunities. “We are going to have a donation jar and we are going to match it dollar for dollar. Later on, we are going to raffle off a homemade quilt.” The quilt is being made by Mowat’s sister.

She added she believes in the local hospital and Dundas Manor since everyone is going to be a senior someday. “We want the best services to be available for us and our families.”
