Half load restrictions in effect in Leeds and Grenville

There won’t be as much heavy vehicle traffic moving through our area for the next few months.

Half-load restrictions are now in effect in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.

While the restrictions are in effect, all County Roads in the region are off-limits to any vehicles carrying more than 5 tonnes per axle.

The restrictions come into effect every year in the spring to extend the lifespan of the asphalt, since it can be weakened from warm daytime temperatures coupled with cold nights.

There’s no firm date for how long the restrictions will be in effect this year, but they usually end sometime in May.
