Police say a 48-year-old South Dundas woman has been the victim of a murder attempt.
According to officers from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP detachment, the incident happened Tuesday at roughly 2:30 PM at a home on Carraway Crescent in Morrisburg.
The woman suffered stab wounds and was taken to hospital, where police say her injuries were later downgraded to “not life-threatening.”
The suspect, a 35-year-old man from South Dundas, has been charged with attempting to commit murder, mischief destroying or damaging property, being inside someone’s home unlawfully, and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
To protect the victim’s identity, police haven’t revealed the suspect’s name. He has a hearing in Cornwall scheduled for March 1st.
