South Grenville Food Bank expanding “Tools for Launch” lunch program

The South Grenville Food Bank is taking more steps to help people starting new jobs avoid going to work hungry.

The organization is preparing for an expansion to its ‘Tools for Launch’ program, providing people in need with meals during their first few weeks of employment.

The program launched in 2021 in partnership with CSE Consulting, a local employment agency.

Food Bank Executive Director Bonnie Pidgeon Coogler says it’s now expanding to work directly with some companies, starting with a corporate breakfast next week.

“We’re going to be talking about the expansion of this program to working with businesses and corporations,” Coogler says. “So, when you’re hiring somebody, we want to be part of that orientation and that onboarding.”

The “Building Stronger Employment Through Collaboration” event is happening March 5th at Renegadz Restaurant and Bar in Prescott, at 7:30 in the morning.

If you own a business and want to take part, Coogler says you can reserve a spot at the event by visiting the South Grenville Food Bank website.
