South Nation Conservation issues water safety statement

People living in low-lying areas should be wary about possible ‘nuisance flooding’ over the coming days, according to South Nation Conservation.

The organization has issued a water safety statement, saying recent warm weather could lead to increased water levels and flows.

No major flooding is expected, staff members say, but if you live in a low-lying or flood-prone area, they say you should take steps to prepare for flooding.

That includes making sure your sump pump works, having a backup pump and generator ready in case you lose power, and securing anything that could float away.

The safety statement is in effect until February 19th, unless SNC issues an update.
