An organization representing local farmers is hosting a meeting and fundraising event soon.
The Grenville Federation of Agriculture is hosting its annual meeting March 8th at the Drummond building in Spencerville.
“We’re a lobby organization to help farmers in any problems they have,” explains organization President Adrian Wynands. “Usually in dealing with the government, but it could be other things, too.”
The event will feature a keynote presentation from Alan Kruszel, a Board Member from the Soil Conservation Council of Canada, an environmental advocacy organization.
“He just went last year to a symposium in Korea,” Wynands says. “So, he’s going to talk about his experience in Korea and what they talked about, on a world level.”
Wynands also says the event will raise money for the Grenville 4-H Association, a local youth charity, as well as food banks in our area.
