New equipment for MRIs, mammograms and more is coming to Brockville General Hosptial (BGH).
The hospital’s fundraising arm, the BGH Foundation, says it’s reached a $12.5-million fundraising goal.
The money was raised through a campaign called “Your Health Your Hospital,” with the goal of buying new medical equipment.
Staff say the funding is going towards the new MRI suite that’s opening in the spring, as well as a brand-new mammography machine for detecting breast cancer.
Chief Executive Officer Nick Vlacholias says the new equipment will have a “transformative impact” on patients’ experience at the hospital.
“It represents another significant step forward in our mission to deliver the highest quality of care, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of those who supported the campaign,” he says.
Staff members with the Foundation are thanking everyone that donated to the campaign for their contributions.
