Council set to vote on adding new stop signs to Sophia Street intersection

The Town of Prescott is looking into ways to regulate traffic around the Alaine Chartrand Community Centre.

In a report to council, staff say there’s been a significant increase in traffic at the intersection of Sophia Street and Churchill Road West.

To make sure the intersection is safe for pedestrians and drivers, staff have proposed adding two new stop signs to the intersection.

The signs would affect northbound and southbound traffic on Sophia Street.

Council votes on whether to add the signs at their next meeting Monday night.
