If you don’t need urgent care, consider visiting a pharmacist or your primary care provider instead of the Brockville General Hospital (BGH) Emergency Department.
That’s a message from staff members at the hospital, who say it’s experiencing “record levels of occupancy and patient volume.”
They also urge you to take advantage of services like Ontario’s Health811 phone line if you need help.
If you do go to BGH, you’re asked to show kindness to staff members and workers, who are doing the best they can during a difficult and stressful time.
Staff also say you might need to deal with longer wait times than normal, since they need to help critically ill patients first.
