Cell phone services are getting better in Eastern Ontario.
That from the Eastern Ontario Regional Network. Officials say the Network, made up of Eastern Ontario municipal leaders, has worked with senior government and Rogers to improve service in several areas of the province, including the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.
The groups say cell phone infrastructure has been placed at 18 new sites and improvements have been made at seven others to allow 5G mobile services to be available in areas where it wasn’t previously.
The announcement is part of a $300 million public-private partnership to eliminate gaps in service, with hopes it will allow for more business growth, better access to health care and improved quality of life for Eastern Ontario residents.
