107.9 Moose FM is helping to support more than 300 local families through the holiday season.
The station will be broadcasting live outside of O’Reilly’s Independent Grocer collecting donations for the Kinsmen Club of Prescott’s Spirit of Giving campaign, providing food and toys to families in need for the holidays.
“We had 320 families last year and are anticipating the same amount this year,” explains Judi Baril, a member of the Kinsmen Club helping to coordinate the event.
Baril says people will be able to buy $5, $10, or $20 bags of food created by O’Reilly’s to put towards the campaign.
“There will be a container there for cash donations, if people want to donate that way,” Baril adds. “That’s very helpful to us, because the Kinsmen do buy all the food for the perishable products for the Christmas dinner – the turkey, the hams, the potatoes, the bread – and any donations will go towards helping us pay for that.”
The event runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 4th. OPP officers will also be collecting donations for the campaign outside O’Reilly’s during the event.
