You might notice your tap water is discolored at times next month.
Town of Prescott workers will be flushing town watermains throughout the month of October, between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
That flushing process helps improve water quality, but staff members say it can lead to discoloration in your tap water.
They say that’s completely normal and doesn’t pose any health risks but could stain your laundry.

If you want to make sure your clothes don’t get stained, they say you should run your tap before doing laundry to check if the water is clear.
If it’s not, you should leave the tap running until the discoloration is gone.
