With Thanksgiving around the corner, the South Grenville Food Bank is preparing to host an event to support families struggling with food insecurity.
Bonnie Pidgeon Coogler, the organization’s Executive Director, says a touch-a-truck event is being hosted at Giant Tiger in Prescott next weekend, collecting donations for the food bank.
It’ll give residents a chance to see a Prescott Fire Service firetruck up close and take a tour inside.
She says events like this are important to help people that are struggling as the prices of living essentials rise.
“Right now, it’s a pretty hard time for a lot of people,” Coogler says. “A lot of things are happening, rents are high, eating is going to become a factor, and if we could work together as a community like we always do, it’ll be a great opportunity to help.”
Coogler says the event is happening on September 30th, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
