Prescott residents are being invited to commemorate truth and reconciliation with Indigenous People in a few days.
Staff members have announced a flag raising ceremony ahead of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The holiday was first observed in 2021, to recognize the hardships of survivors of the residential school system and mourn people who died because of it.
It’s commemorated across the country on September 30th, but town staff members say their ceremony is being held the day before, on Friday, the 29th.
It’s happening at 9:00 in the morning outside Town Hall if you want to attend.
