Brockville General Hospital updates masking guidelines

With temperatures starting to drop as summer turns into fall, Brockville General Hospital is asking patients and visitors to put their masks back on.

The hospital has updated its guidelines, making masks mandatory again in patient care areas, including waiting rooms.

Like many other hospitals, masking restrictions were eased at BGH last year, but staff members say they’ve been tightened again to protect people from illnesses like influenza and COVID-19.

Other local hospitals, like Kemptville District Hospital and the Ottawa Hospital, have also made masking mandatory in clinical areas again.

Masks are still optional in other public parts of the hospital, like hallways, elevators and the cafeteria.
