Fort Town Night Run returns to Prescott with Star Wars theme this May

A charity run is coming back to Prescott with a sci-fi twist in the spring.

Registration has opened for the annual Fort Town Night Run, a race that sees runners passing local historic landmarks like Fort Wellington.

Similar to the 2022 event, where participants were encouraged to dress up in “steampunk” costumes, this year’s run will feature a theme organizers call “Prescott Rebels,” based on the Star Wars movies.

Five, ten and fifteen kilometre routes are available for adult runners this year, as well as a one-kilometre “fun run” for kids. Each run begins at the Leo Boivin Community Centre.

If you can’t attend on the day of the event, tickets for a “virtual run” are also available.

All the money from ticket sales goes towards the Greater Fort Town Area Charity’s Youth Movement Project, supporting health programs for kids in the region.

The run is scheduled for May 4th.
