Leeds Grenville’s Summer Company program celebrates four graduates

The future of entrepreneurialism in our region looks bright.

Four students have just graduated from United County of Leeds Grenville’s Summer Company Program.

It provides business mentoring to students and the possibility of grants upon starting up a business and completing the program.

The grads this year include Neville Klug, of Nev’s Sandwiches. The Leeds and the Thousand Islands resident created smoked meat and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches using local ingredients.

Also, Lizzy Mussett, of Brockville-based Liz Pet Inc. made toys and sourced accessories for dogs this summer. She provided tug toys, cooling collars, doggie massagers and more.

There was also Dalena Nguyen, of Gananoque-based Luforia Jewellery. She used her creativity to make jewellery for youth and adults and sold items at the market and online.

And North Grenville’s Sacha Yakimovich ran Golden Sun Herbals, a business that sold ointments made from calendula flower oil. Sacha now has his products in several local stores.

The grads were recognized at a ceremony at Gananoque Town Hall on Thursday, Aug. 24.
