Hershey Canada is returning to Smiths Falls.
Canopy Growth Corporation says it is selling its 1 Hershey Drive facility for 53 million dollars.
Canopy Growth’s decision to sell the facility comes months after it laid off 800 workers and closed the 1 Hershey Drive operation.
The layoff affected 350 employees in the community.
A spokesperson for Hershey Canada says this is an important investment to the supply chain and Canadian operations to support growth although says it is too early to discuss future plans.
Canopy Growth says it will keep its post harvesting production facility in Smiths Falls.
