Town of Prescott running new battery drop-off program

If you need to get rid of some old batteries, you can now bring them to Prescott Town Hall.

The Town is running a new battery drop-off program in partnership with Raw Materials Company, a battery recycler based out of Port Colborne.

Staff members say you won’t be able to drop off wet-cell batteries, batteries for cars, and any damaged batteries you have.

However, most other kinds of batteries, including the kinds found in electronics like phones and laptops, will be accepted, as long as they weigh less than five kilograms each.

The program is completely free, so there aren’t any fees for dropping batteries off. They’ll be taken at the By-Law Office in Town Hall.
