A new reminder to drive slowly and safely is coming to an intersection in downtown Prescott.
Town council approved a proposal to add a yield sign to the Mary and Water Streets intersection for northbound traffic.
The goal of the sign is to make the intersection safer by reminding drivers to keep an eye out for oncoming traffic before driving towards King Street.
The proposal was made because of a request for the sign, made a few months ago by a resident.

“I think this is a great idea,” says Mayor Gauri Shankar. “It’s something that hopefully deters any accidents from occurring there.”
Council voted unanimously to add the sign at their meeting Monday night.
