Ontario Parks unveiling changes as busy season starts

With the school year coming to an end this week, Ontario Parks is getting ready for its busiest time of the year. The organization says many campgrounds across the province are already booked full, but there are still camping opportunities available.

It says, to make it easier for more campers to secure spots, it’s reduced the maximum length of stay at some parks to 7 days, from 14. The new rule applies to Algonquin and Bon Echo parks.

Ontario Parks has also expanded its Daily Vehicle Permit service to more parks this year. Day use permits can now be booked up to five days in advance at 57 Ontario parks, so visitors are guaranteed a spot.
