Oxford Mills is getting ready for a Canada Day bash.
The community, north of Prescott, has events planned at Maplewood Park from 11:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Three live bands will play throughout the day and the Lion’s Club is hosting a barbecue and raffle. The event will also feature kids’ games, face painting, art displays and Medieval sword demonstrations.
The event is put on by the Oxford Mills Community Association, which suggests you bring a lawn chair and sunscreen. The association says there will be birthday cupcakes and “wonderful community spirit” as Canada, rings in its 156th year.
